Government Enterprise Research Study
The client was a major communications company that focuses on the African continent who wished to measure the income and profit potential.
Another aspect of the project was to assess the possibility and feasibility of network conversions of various South African Government Enterprises.
The main aim of the project was to provide the client with strategies to grow their business in the government space. Other objectives of the project included designing a competitive profile, fully understand the reasons behind the government departments product and service choices; and provide the client with strategic advice for the development of marketing strategies designed to increase the clients amount of key government portfolio's.
The Research Approach
Primary and secondary (qualitative and quantitative), intelligence-driven research was conducted. A two stage research approach was followed which included desk research of specific government departments and agencies followed by in-depth seniour analyst interviews. Aspects covered in the research included, structure and size of government portfolio's including budget's and revenues, various telecommunication aspects and government policies relating to these, the execution of ICT in the department, ICT adoption trends, up and coming ICT projects and service provider information.
The Outcome of the Research
BMI-T presented the client with a comprehensive and interpretive management report and presentation which honed in on the important outcomes from the research, followed by additional workshops of research findings with strategic recommendations.
The client was happy with the research findings and with the recommendations provided which has led to BMI-T conducting many other research projects on behalf of the company.
