Denis Smit is the Managing Director of BMI-T with over 21 years direct experience in the telecommunications, IT and electronics industries.

His business experience includes the establishment and running of a high technology VLSI chip testing facility, numerous high profile business consulting engagements and the position of Chairman and majority owner of BMI-TechKnowledge, Africa's premier technology focused market and industry research consultancy.

Denis is also the founder and publisher of the BMI-TechKnowledge Communications Technologies Handbook. Many have lauded this reference publication, covering communications trends in Africa, as being the finest regional reference book of its kind worldwide.

His engineering experience covers missile system design and manufacture, systems engineering, telecommunications and product engineering and management.

Denis holds a BSc Electrical Engineering, MAP and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand, where he was joint top-student in his MBA degree in the field of Corporate Strategy.
